The real me

As much as the previous set I created via Polydor was definitely a part of me, this reflects probably more of what I truly adore, and try to wear a part of each day:

Summer Inspiration

Even though its still pretty cold outside, I'm starting to plan my summer wardrobe...deciding what trends to incorporate into my current clothing, and just looking forward to a little sun! (Only a little, I'm too pale to be a proper summer girl).

Here are some pics c/- style.com that are making me happy:

Zuel discovers Polyvore!

Ohhhh my goodness, I'm addicted already, and have no idea how I missed finding out about this site until yesterday!

This is my first "set", pretty much filled with clothing I would love to fill my summer wardrobe with:

In other news, I seem to have the West Coast Eagles theme song in my head on a loop. Whyyyy?

Well I'd like to thank god, without whom, none of this would have been possible ;)

Sorry for the slackness in posting - I think its been almost 2 weeks - eep! Had a trip to Perth for my Grandmother's funeral, and then last week was mostly spent being loved up with the boy. But anyway, in the meantime my little blog received a Brilliante Weblog Premio from the very lovely Diamonds in Champagne! You've made my day darling! (You can read Diamonds in Champagne's blog at: http://diamondsinchampagne.blogspot.com/)

Anyway, these are the rules when having received a Premio:

1. When received, you may post the Premio in your blog.

2. Link to the blogger you received it from.

3. Give it to 7 blogs.

4. Link to those 7 blogs.

5. Leave those 7 bloggers a comment about receiving the Brilliant Premio.

So with that in mind, I give the Premio to:

Love To Love You Baby

Things have been nuts here in the world of Maxie et Zuel for the past few weeks. A good mix of romance for Zuel, family stuff for both of us and work work work!

I was all stoked today to find my name on stylehunter (I know, I'm a sad case, but whatever), well they had a little bit about my jewellery anyway. It's all thanks to the lovely Joanna at Bowerbird Vintage - you should check out her blog & online store (info in our blog section).

Anyway, a little mention of my grandmother, who passed away this week. She was never very interested in fashion, and its still a mystery how both my mother and myself developed such a love for it, but she did teach me the value of being an honest and good person. RIP Olive and I'm so glad you're at peace now.

To fashion, here are some cuties I loved from facehunter, Le Blog de Betty, Lady Melbourne and Sea of Ghosts:

RIP Dorian Leigh

I just heard that Dorian Leigh died on Monday, at the age of 91. Dorian was one of the most amazing models of the 1940's and 50's, and opened the first modelling agency in Paris. She was a great beauty, very much in the Ava Gardner school of beauty.

I first read about her in the book "Model" by Michael Gross (which I highly recommend. Its all about the histroy of modelling, right from its beginnings in the 1920's until present day, and as well as various models, also talks about important photographers and fashion icons)

I ended up having my hair cut in a more modern version of Veronica Lake's famous style btw, and am loving it :)

New hair for Zuel

Going to have my hair done on Thursday night and am having the usual "what to do, what to do" feeling! My hair is currently just past my shoulders, which is the longest I've had it in about 2 or 3 years...and I really don't know whether to have it cut shorter again, keep growing it, what style etc etc.

Some possibles I love:

Dita, of course

Something like Kate's fringe (but so I can see):

And Rachel Bilson always looks gorgeous:

Why are the first ones always the hardest?

This is Zuel...first post, argh, what to say? As longtime lovers of fashion and all things glamorous, we decided to create a blog dedicated to all that we adore. (Also, I am oh so bored at work, so will probably be posting here a lot!)

We're both originally Perth girls, but now live in Melbourne....Maxie has been here for about 8 or 9 years now, but I'm a newbie of 3 months! We have been best friends ever since high school, where we bonded over our combined love of Corey Haim, YSL and Dior Couture, Andy Warhol, french music and 80's movies.

While Corey was becoming a crackhead, we went travelling through Europe, America and Asia, became a make-up artist (Maxie) and a stylist (Zuel) and moved between London and Australia. I also started my own design label (currently jewellery, but moving into other accessories too).

And with that, I must go to lunch :)
